Wallace Hayden Baker of Lynchburg, Tennessee passed from this life on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at St. Thomas West hospital in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 83 years. A native of Moore County, he is the son of the late Buford and Rosa Brazier Baker. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Sarah Marie Baker in July of 2024, stepson, Johnny Carter, and brother, Jimmy Baker.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Lynchburg Funeral Home in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Burial will follow at Beech Hill Cemetery in Franklin County, Tennessee. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday August 1, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
Wallace served in the United States Army and is a Vietnam Veteran. We owe him a great debt of gratitude for his service. After the military he was a barber in Tullahoma, Tennessee for approximately 30 years. He enjoyed servicing his community. He was also a small business owner running Baker Auto Sales in Tullahoma for 50 years. His love of cars was very evident when servicing his customers.
His survivors include His wife, Carolyn Baker of Fayetteville, Tennessee, son, Michael (Kim Kasler) Baker of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, daughter, Desiree Bell of Tullahoma, Tennessee, stepson, Greg (Cindy) Arnold of Fayetteville, Tennessee, brother, Bobby (Patsy) Baker of Tullahoma, Tennessee, sisters, Elizabeth Maples of Cookeville, Tennessee, Debbie Baker of Lynchburg, Tennessee, grandchildren, Heather Carter Goad of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Sgt. Christopher (Samantha) Bell of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Brandon (Emily) Baker of Atlanta, Georgia, Detective Alex (Melissa) Bell of Tullahoma, Tennessee, and Cassie (Kelly Yorba of Fayetteville, Tennessee, great grandchildren, Haden Bell, Silas Bell, Sam Bell, Jacob Bell, Ashland Tankersley, Skylar Parton, Annistyn Yorba and Samson Yorba, great great grandchild, Hadalee Tankersley, several nieces, nephews and good friends.
