November 9, 1951 - October 17, 2025

Michael Edward Senft of Fayetteville, Tn passed away on 10/17/25 surrounded by his spouse and family.

Michael was born in Johnstown, PA on 11/9/1951 to Joseph and Irene Senft, who preceded him in death. Michael graduated high school in 1969. Michael joined the navy with his brother Kip in 1970. His 3 years in the Navy offered him a chance of living in Key West as well as sailing the North Atlantic in the winter.

Upon discharge Michael began his 40-year career with GTE/Verizon. Michael took pride in his profession and worked his way through the company. From climbing poles in the mid of winter to becoming a supervisor, Michael grew his career through his knowledge and dedication to always be the best.

Michael’s quick wit and "Mikeism" have become famous over the years and there were always stories that could only be told in a Michael way. His love to share stories and knowledge was known by all. Michael was always ready to pass on and encourage others to continue to learn.

Michael's love of nature led him to design and build his own log cabin in the mountains of Pennsylvania with the help of family and friends. Many memories and moments of laughter were shared by all who enjoyed the serenity of the mountain home. He especially enjoyed taking his sons Mark and Eric and nephews Sean and Chris to the cabin, teaching them hunting and fishing skills.

Michael was dubbed "MacGyver" as there were few things he could not fix, build, design or engineer. He did it quietly and methodically surprising people and offering solutions to their quandaries. Michael saved even the smallest items stating, "I might be able to use that someday". He was often heard saying "hey, that little part you told me to toss is what I used to fix the project with". with a grin on his face. Upon Michaels retirement from Verizon, he returned to his love of woodworking. Designing and building many beautiful artistic creations for so many. His love of sharing and seeing the happiness on the recipient’s face was all the thank you Michael ever wanted. Michaels natural gift of perfection and precision became his signature of all he did. Michael stated, "always finesse your build and treat it with respect".

Michael never looked for or expected accolades as he was just “doing his job or project”. Michael Would say his most humbling and honored request was being asked to be a Godparent to Noah and Cruz. Michael took the roll seriously and attempted to honor his Godsons by guiding them to be respectful kind young men.

Michael and his wife moved to Fayetteville, TN in 2018. Michael found tranquility that filled his soul. His love for the Lord was renewed as he worshipped at St. Mary Magdalene church and joined in projects and men's group, finding camaraderie and joy in worshipping and service projects.

Michael was ready at any time to lend a hand to others with repairs, remodels or projects. Michael would no sooner receive the call and would start to plan and pack tools that he would need and some he "just might need". With plans forming in his head, by the time Michael would arrive he had a strategic plan to tackle the job. The joy that Michael gained from helping others and teaching filled his life with accomplishments as he watched others gain and improve their own skills.

Music of the 50's through the 80's filled the air as Michael would work on projects. As a young man Michael enjoyed listening to all music and gained knowledge of the history of the song, artist, group and of course the year of release. Many a phone call came to Michael when others were doing music trivia and with positive confidence, Michael would give them more than enough information to answer the question.

Michael is survived by his wife Paula, the two married in 2005 and the adventures of lifetimes began. Cruising, kayaking, State Parks exploration, easy Sundays relaxing but most of all trips to see children and grandchildren filled joyful memories.
