Tonya Helen Austin

Tonya Helen Austin, age 57, of Decherd, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Tonya was born on November 16, 1967, in Tokyo, Japan, and from the moment she entered this world, she brought warmth, compassion, and light to all who knew her. She shared 32 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, James Elliott Austin, and together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and faith in God. She was the proud mother of Tristen Austin and James Austin, who is married to Kayla Austin. Tonya’s greatest joy came from being “Mimi” to her beloved grandchildren, Charli and James Austin III, who filled her heart with endless love and laughter. She is preceded in death by her precious daughter, Ashley Vidal, with whom she is now reunited in Heaven. Tonya had a deep love for life and delighted in watching Georgia football, riding horses, and enjoying her favorite cooking shows. Her gentle nature, unwavering faith, and devotion to her family were evident in everything she did. She will be remembered for her kindness, her joyful spirit, and the way she loved others with a pure and genuine heart. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM. The Funeral will follow at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
