Shelia Jan Batson

May 31, 1951 - July 17, 2025

Shelia Jan Batson, born May 31, 1951, passed this life on July 17, 2025. She was born in Amarillo, Texas to Nylan Jack and Billie Jo Batson.

She spent much of her life between Texas, Louisiana and California before settling in Mishawaka, IN, where she met her first love and the man, she spent the next 33 years with. She was a devoted housewife and mother to her five children; they were her greatest gift. Upon moving to Tennessee, she was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Lynchburg, TN. She retired from Wal-Mart after 25 years of employment. She loved making crafts, sewing, gardening, Christmas, Hallmark channel, refurbishing furniture, dancing and the color purple.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, stepfather; Robert Davis II, grandparents; son in law, Kenneth Bailey; sisters Cindy Richardson, Kerry Bourne and Angie Sheperd.

She is survived by her children, Teresa (Patrick) Kelley, Richard Tucker Jr.; Billie Jo (Stephen) Shipley; Francine (Ben) Anderson; and Matthew (Denise) Tucker; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 4 grand dogs; sisters Beverly Hutchins and Vicki Batson; brother, Robert Davis III and a few half siblings and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life held Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the county building in Lynchburg, TN for immediate family and friends.
