Robert E. "Boots" Colbert

Robert E. “Boots” Colbert, age 99 of Belvidere, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Highpoint Medical Center in Winchester. He was born in Madison County, Alabama on November 22, 1925, to the late Robert William and Pearl (Branum) Colbert. A lifelong farmer, Boots, retired from the Franklin County CO-OP after twenty-five years of service. He was passionate about growing crops and gardening. His greatest love was his family, and he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. In his leisure time, you could find him watching FOX news. He was a hard worker, loyal to his family and friends, and could be stubborn as a mule…he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Boots was a dedicated member of Belvidere Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wives, Elinda Rich Colbert and Wilma “Jeanette” Rich Colbert; son, Larry Michael Colbert; and siblings, Josephine McNeese, Charles “Tot” Colbert, Ruby Watson, and Edna Amacher. Boots is survived by his loving son, Richard (Jamie) Colbert; grandchildren, Chas McBee and Richard Chanz Colbert; and sister, Shirley Ann Syler. Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Butler officiating. Interment will follow at Maxwell Cemetery.
