TULLAHOMA, Tenn. — Everyone escaped injury Thursday evening after a vehicle crashed into the Quik Stop convenience market on North Jackson Street, narrowly missing customers and employees inside the store. The incident occurred at the market located at 1818 North Jackson Street and was captured on surveillance video.
According to Tullahoma Police Chief Chase Sons, a car drove through the storefront and plowed over rows of merchandise inside the business. Video footage shows a man walking through the store moments before the vehicle entered, narrowly avoiding being struck. “There were no injuries, and it was an accident,” Sons said. “Nothing criminal is suspected, according to the officers that worked the scene.”
The name of the driver has not been released, as the investigation remains preliminary. The store’s owner and staff stayed past midnight cleaning up, while Atlas Construction Company completed overnight repairs to restore the business.
The owner’s son, Bonny Patel, was working at the time of the crash and had just stepped outside moments before the vehicle struck the building. “Mr. Jimmy was very lucky,” Patel said, referring to a customer seen in the video who narrowly escaped injury inside the store. Patel added that the most important outcome was that no one was hurt.

Less than 24 hours later, a second crash occurred involving another North Jackson Street business. Police say a vehicle was forced into Giles Dunn Diamond Company at 234 North Jackson Street after being rear-ended while turning into the parking lot. Unlike the Quik Stop incident, Chief Sons said this crash was caused by driver inattention.
No injuries were reported in the second incident, and police continue to investigate both crashes. Authorities remind drivers to remain alert, particularly in busy commercial areas.
