December 27, 1946 - November 25, 2025
Linda Frances Kuykendall, age 78 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Nashville on December 27, 1946, to the late Percy and Frances Irene (Spurlock) Talbert. Linda was a 1946 graduate of Hillwood High School, where she earned the title of valedictorian of her senior class. She then continued her educational pursuit to become a teacher, graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Peabody University in 1968 and a master’s degree from Memphis State in 1972. With a servant’s heart, she taught many children from 1968-2021, beginning in Memphis, then Virginia Schools. She retired from Nashville Public School System in 2021. Linda was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hiking and camping in her travel trailer. She had the opportunity to not only travel domestically, but internationally, particularly enjoying Germany, and had always wanted to go to Isreal and Ireland. But most of all, Linda cherished the time spent with her beloved family. A devoted Christian, she was a member of Brentwood United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Katherine “Kathy” Johnson. Linda is survived by her loving husband of fifty-three years, Cary Kuykendall; daughter, Samantha (Daniel) Wiseman; granddaughter, Mackenzie Thornton; and four-legged best friend, Mia. A memorial gathering will be held from 10 am-12 pm on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 300 First Ave NW, Winchester, TN 37398, (931)-967-2222, www.moorecortner.com.
