Lars D. Robinette

January 10, 1946  -  October 25, 2025

Lars Daniel Robinette (94) of Cowan, TN, was born in Mayking, KY, of the late Melvin L. Robinette and Edith Roberts Robinette and passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, at Life Care Center in Tullahoma where he had been in residence for a short time.

He was preceded in death by daughters Neva Lynn Robinette and Lisa Gay Robinette White in CA; brother Bill Robinette (Dorothy) Columbus, IN; and sisters Lovely Gay Wheeler (Barry) Flora, IN; and Wilma Sue Prewitt (Ralph), Apple Valley, CA.

He is survived by five brothers: Ron Robinette, Hillsboro; Roger Robinette (Charlotte) Lake Havasu City, AZ; Larry Robinette (Gwen),Fort Davis, TX; Keith Robinette, Tullahoma, Uel Robinette, Tullahoma, and one sister Nona Robinette Talley, Tullahoma; two granddaughters Tara Lynn Robinette, Alameda, CA, and Amanda Leigh Oswald Marquez (Rene), CA; and great-grandson Angelo Rene Marquez, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

Lars spent his early years in Coeburn, VA, where he graduated from high school.

He served proudly in the US as a veteran of the Korean war.

He was a highly skilled craftsman, trained as a tool and die maker and worked in industries in Columbus, IN, and Phoenix, AZ. After moving to Tullahoma, he was employed at AEDC (ARO) as a machinist until his retirement.

Lars was a very outgoing person wo enjoyed the company of his friends. He was an accomplished ballroom dancer, and was active his entire life. He loved to see things grow. He maintained a greenhouse filled with exotic plants and flowers. He had aquariums, both fresh and salt water filled with aquatic species. During his “retirement” years, he made good use of his craftsman skills by remodeling several old houses.

Visitation will be held at Watson Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 9, 2025 with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00 PM. Inurnment to follow in Watson Memorial Park.
