Joseph “Joe” Carl Hice, age 95 of Tullahoma, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 17, 2025. Joe was born on July 29, 1930, in Franklin County, to the late Onman and Florence (Shoemaker) Hice. He was a 1948 class graduate of Franklin County High School. At an early age, he taught himself how to play guitar and enjoyed taking photos of family, friends and even nature. Following graduation he enlisted into the United States National Guard. Joe worked for Genesco until the plant closed, owned his own sawmill where he made beautiful custom cabinets, and eventually retired from Wisco as a janitor. Following retirement, he began wooding working in his shop, built the home he and his wife lived in, and made their cherry cabinets for their house. He enjoyed preparing wonderful meals for his family and most currently became a master chef at using his air fryer. In his spare time, he would watch Price is Right and Huntsville News. Joe attended New Center Grove Church of Christ. He will be remembered by his family as an animal lover, and as easy-going person. However, when he spoke everyone listened. In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Sanders Hice; son-in-law, Steve Branch; grandchildren, April Branch and Joseph Stafford; sister, Dorothy Admiral; and brothers, Tommy Hice, George Hice and Kenneth Hice.
