Herman Ed Crabtree

Herman Ed Crabtree, age 90 of Winchester, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Elk River Nursing Center in Winchester. Ed was born on August 17, 1935, in Winchester, to the late Herman and Polly (Hawkersmith) Crabtree. He retired from AERO as an electrician after many years of service. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling with his family and friends and riding motorcycles on sunny days. But most recently, you could find him fishing by the lake or working in his shop on his latest wood project. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mona Crabtree; son, Barry Crabtree, and brother, Paul Crabtree. Ed is survived by his sons, Bruce (Julia) Crabtree, and Ronnie Crabtree; grandchildren, Connor (Aleia) Crabtree, Seth (Carrie) Crabtree, Bret (Amy) Crabtree, Jason (Emily) Crabtree, and Kevin (Cindy) Crabtree; step-grandchildren, Brittany, Amber, Katilyn, Hannah, Ryan, and Robyn; nine great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 1:00pm – 3:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with funeral service following at 3:00pm from the chapel with Bro. Johnny Bradford, officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens with grandsons and great-grandson as pallbearers.
