WINCHESTER, TN — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office recently recognized two deputies for their outstanding service, highlighting a commitment to public safety, leadership, and professionalism within the department.
Deputy Matthew Williams was honored with the Sheriff’s Office DUI Enforcement Award, recognizing his dedication to proactive traffic enforcement and efforts to keep Franklin County’s roadways safe. Officials said Williams’ work reflects a strong focus on preventing impaired driving and reducing the risk of serious crashes throughout the community.
Sheriff’s Office leadership noted that DUI enforcement remains a critical public-safety priority, particularly during high-traffic periods and holidays. By identifying impaired drivers before accidents occur, deputies like Williams play a key role in protecting not only motorists but also pedestrians and families across the county.

In addition to the enforcement award, the department also announced the promotion of Deputy Jerod Bradford to the rank of Corporal. The promotion recognizes Bradford’s leadership abilities, consistent professionalism, and dedication to serving the citizens of Franklin County.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Bradford has demonstrated strong decision-making skills and a commitment to mentoring fellow deputies, qualities that factored heavily into his promotion. Corporals often serve as first-line supervisors, assisting with training, guidance, and operational oversight, making the role a vital component of the department’s structure.
“These accomplishments reflect the values we strive to uphold every day,” officials said, emphasizing that both deputies exemplify the standards of service, accountability, and integrity expected within the agency.
The Sheriff’s Office encouraged community members to join in congratulating Deputy Williams and Corporal Bradford on their achievements, noting that recognition of exemplary work helps reinforce morale and the importance of public service.
Officials added that the department remains committed to supporting deputies through training, leadership development, and recognition programs that strengthen law enforcement efforts countywide.
