Francis Julian (Frank) Keeney

October 27, 1934 - September 13, 2025

Frank Keeney was the son of Irish Immigrants who came from Donegal, Ireland. They settled in Greenville, Alabama and Frank was born October 27, 1934 as the youngest child of a family of 11 children. Frank was the son of Joseph Keeney and Mary Shovlin. Frank graduated from Greenville High School in 1952 and he then joined the US Navy and served for two years, 1952-1954. He attended Auburn University where in 1958 he graduated as an aeronautical engineer. After his college education, Frank was employed by Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. He continued his career working at Boeing in Seattle, Washington; and spent the remaining balance of his Aeronautical career, before his retirement, employed at Arnold Engineering Development Center in Tullahoma, Tennessee as a Senior Aeronautical Engineer. After many years as a single person, he married Lucy Shepard Worshem in 1997 and they lived out many happy years in marriage. Frank is survived by his loving wife Lucy, their children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends almost too many to count. Frank was also a very faithful member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church where his Funeral Mass will occur on September 27, 2025 at 1:00pm. Frank was loved and cherished for his friendly nature, his willingness to help anyone in need, and his dedication to work and family.
