Dixie Lee Cantrell Posey, age 68 of Scottsboro, Alabama, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Cloverdale Manor in Scottsboro. She was born on November 6, 1956, in Troy, Ohio, to the late Arnold Joseph and Susanne (Needler) Cantrell. Dixie enjoyed gardening, taking care of her cats, and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Joe Cantrell. Dixie is survived by her husband, Larry Posey; stepchildren, Rick Posey, Kenneth Posey and Kimberley Ball; grandchildren, Aaron (Sara) Posey, Andrew (Shelby) Posey, Kyle Posey, David Ball, Larry Posey, Brooklyn Ball, and Kylynn Posey; great-grandchildren, Gunner and Linkin; siblings, Rick Cantrell, and Tom Cantrell; and nephew, Joseph Needler. Private services will be held at a later date in Roanoke, Virginia.
