Clifford Stephens, age 73 of Belvidere, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 27, 2025. Clifford was born on May 5, 1952, in Franklin County, to the late Morton and Rosetta (Steele) Stephens. He was a 1970 graduate of Franklin County High School. Clifford proudly served his country in the United States National Guard and later retired from CSX Railroad after twenty-five years of service. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting when he was able, and riding ATVs. Clifford will be remembered by all who knew him as a kind and caring man, who never met a stranger. In addition to his parents, Clifford is preceded in death by his great-grandson, Rhyker Eckert, and siblings, Patricia Metcalf, Ricky Stephens and Timmy Stephens. He is survived by his son, Brian (Jennifer) Stephens; grandchildren, Rebecca Stephens, Katelyn (Josh) Eckert, and Jacob Stephens; great-grandchildren, Jasper Adam, Sebastian and Kingston Stephens; Kyro Eckert, and Callum Eckert; siblings, Elvis (Mary Nell) Stephens, and Loretta (Eddie) Williams; sister-in-law, Katie Stephens; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 1:00pm – 2:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with a memorial service following at 2:00pm from the chapel.
