WINCHESTER, TN - A new community initiative aimed at supporting teens through connection, encouragement, and open conversation is launching this winter in Winchester. Turning Pain Into Purpose, a teen gathering powered by We Live for Riv, will begin January 17 and will meet every other week at Mass Appeal Fitness, located in Winchester.
The gatherings will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and are designed to provide a safe, welcoming environment where teens can show up as they are, share their experiences, and build one another up. Organizers say the goal is to create meaningful connections while offering hope and positive direction to the next generation.
Turning Pain Into Purpose focuses on honest conversations, encouragement, and fun activities, giving teens a space to feel heard and supported. Leaders involved with the program emphasize that many young people face challenges that often go unspoken, and this gathering is intended to offer a judgment-free place to talk, listen, and grow together.
The initiative is sponsored by We Live for Riv, an organization dedicated to turning hardship into purpose and helping young people find strength through community. Organizers say the group welcomes all teens, regardless of background or personal struggles, and encourages participants to invite friends and spread the word.
“This is about creating a space where teens can connect, find encouragement, and realize they are not alone,” organizers said. “We want to bring hope and positivity into their lives while fostering real relationships.”
Parents and guardians are encouraged to share information about the gathering with teens who may benefit from a supportive peer environment. Community members say the program reflects a growing effort to prioritize youth mental health and connection in Franklin County.
More details about upcoming sessions and activities will be shared as the program continues to grow.
