Tornado Crashes into Downtown Athens Alabama

Downtown Athens

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, an EF-1 tornado touched down in nearby Athens, Alabama, during the early morning hours on Sunday. It was on the ground for 3.87 miles at 100mph and had a maximum width of 160 yards. The downtown area was hit the hardest.

Pryor St. around Veterans Museum, The Square & Pecan Park parking lot will remain closed to the public until further notice.
