Tennessee Offers Free Real Estate Licensing Program for High School Seniors

The Tennessee High School Senior Real Estate Licensing Program is now open for applications. This program gives high school seniors a free chance to jumpstart a career in real estate while still finishing school.

Students accepted into the program will need to complete a 60-hour Tennessee Affiliate Broker pre-licensing course and a 30-hour Tennessee New Affiliate course through Kaplan Real Estate Education. Both courses must be finished within 100 days of starting the program. After that, students can take the state and national real estate exams.

Only about 150 seniors will be chosen, with priority given to those from economically distressed counties. If someone doesn’t finish the program, TREC will offer their spot to someone on the waiting list based on when they applied.

If you want more info, students, parents, and educators can email the Tennessee Real Estate Commission (TREC) at trec.hsprogram@tn.gov.
