Sue Frances Childress

July 17, 1946  -  April 8, 2025

June 8, 1955 - June 3, 2025

Sue Frances Childress went home to glory on June 3, 2025 at Highpoint STRH in Winchester. She was born June 8, 1955 in Sewanee, TN to the late Herbert C. Childress, Sr. and Gladys J. Newsom Childress. Sue accepted Christ early at Decherd AME Church and later at Estill Springs Church of God. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and a die-hard wrestling fan. She was able to attend live events and got to see her favorite Roman Reigns in person, which was a dream come true. She was a jokester who was able to make friends everywhere she went. She could make you laugh when you didn't want to laugh. Her laugh was so loud and noticeable you couldn't forget it. She worked many jobs, but she worked at The Dairy Queen in Winchester for over 18 years and this is how many people came to know her. She was often called "Mama Sue" and to this day, she called many co-workers her children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Ella J. Bean of Winchester, brothers James David Newsom of Nashville and Herbert C. Childress, Jr. of Winchester. She leaves to cherish her memory, sister and sidekick Kathryn (Rodney)Dennison of Decherd, Eddie (Joann) Childress of Lewisburg, James and Trey Childress of Nashville. Aunts Tennie M. Trice of Newport, TN and Jean Marsh of Murfreesboro. She leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Special devoted shouts outs to Kay and Don Young of Decherd and Guerry Marsh of Murfreesboro. Special mentions to Matthew and Brandon Childress and Shawn Little and Earl Bean, Jr who she deemed as not just her niece and nephews, but HER heart and her children. Special mentions also to Sandy Bolin, a close and trusted friend for years and as Sue said "for life". She wanted to send thanks to the wonderful ladies at Fresenius Dialysis Center and the drivers. She wanted you all to know that she loves you guys so very much and special love to Mrs. Mason.
