The Franklin County Rebelettes came up short Friday night, dropping a 4-1 game to the Lawrence County Lady Cats.

Lawrence County wasted no time getting on the board, scoring one run in the top of the first thanks to a base hit from Gisselle Maldonado.

Franklin County answered in the bottom of the second when Kyleigh Decamp ripped a single to center, bringing in the tying run and making it 1-1.

The game stayed locked until the top of the seventh, when Lawrence County strung together three big hits—back-to-back doubles from Maldonado and Elizabeth Hagan, followed by a single from Reagan Frakes. That late rally pushed across three runs and gave the Lady Cats a 4-1 lead they wouldn't give up.

Victoria Nelson got the start in the circle for the Rebelettes. She went the full seven innings, giving up 12 hits and four runs while striking out five and walking two. On the other side, Hagan went the distance for Lawrence County, holding the Rebelettes to just four hits and one run while striking out six.

At the plate for Franklin County, Decamp, Madi Morris, Kaitlyn Montgomery, and Nelson each had a hit. Decamp picked up the only RBI of the night for the Rebelettes.

Lawrence County's bats were hot all game, racking up 12 hits total. Maldonado led the way, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Four different Lady Cats had multi-hit games, and the team stayed aggressive on the bases, swiping eight bags without a single error in the field. Frakes led the defense with 13 putouts.

The Rebelettes are back in action at home Monday night as they take on the Blackman Lady Blaze.
