Franklin County Rebelettes struggled through a tough weekend at the Wildcat Classic, wrapping up the tournament with a 10-0 loss to Boyd-Buchanan on Saturday at the Summit of Softball Complex. The defeat in the quarterfinals of the Silver bracket marked their fifth and final game of the event.
The Rebelettes had a promising start, as Addison Partin and Kaylee Morris opened the first inning with back-to-back singles. A walk by Alex Hand loaded the bases, but a pop fly ended the inning, leaving all three runners stranded. Boyd-Buchanan capitalized on their chances, scoring five runs in the first and adding four more in the second to take a commanding 9-0 lead. A final run in the fourth inning sealed Franklin County’s fate as the game ended on the tournament’s time limit rule.
Kaylee Morris got the start for Franklin County, lasting only a third of an inning while allowing two hits, two walks, and three earned runs. Dalayna Marshall took over in relief, pitching the remainder of the game while surrendering five hits, three walks, and six total runs, only one of which was earned. The loss dropped the Rebelettes to 5-8 on the season.
Rebelettes Edge Out South Pittsburg

Earlier on Saturday, Franklin County secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over South Pittsburg. After trailing early, the Rebelettes rallied in the sixth inning to pull off the comeback win in the opening round of the Silver bracket.
South Pittsburg struck first in the bottom of the first, manufacturing a run through a single, a sacrifice bunt, a stolen base, and a sacrifice fly. The Rebelettes were held scoreless until the sixth, when Aaliyah Elliott delivered a clutch RBI single to tie the game. Moments later, an error on a ball hit by Victoria Nelson allowed two more runs to cross the plate, giving Franklin County a 3-1 lead.
South Pittsburg responded in the bottom of the frame, cutting the deficit to one with a two-out RBI double. They threatened to tie the game when the next batter singled, putting runners on the corners. However, Nelson forced a groundout to end the inning, and the game concluded on the time limit rule before the seventh inning could begin.
Nelson pitched a complete game, striking out six while allowing four hits, one walk, and two runs. The win pushed the Rebelettes to a 5-7 record.
Bruisers Overpower Rebelettes

In their third game of the tournament, Franklin County fell to Girls Preparatory School 7-1. A pair of multi-run innings from GPS put the Rebelettes in a hole they couldn’t escape, leaving them winless in pool play.
The Bruisers broke through in the second inning, stringing together four consecutive hits with two outs to plate three runs. They extended their lead in the fourth, adding two more runs to go up 5-0.
Franklin County got on the board in the fifth when Elliott crushed a solo home run to left field. However, GPS tacked on two more runs in the bottom half of the inning, and the time limit expired shortly after, handing the Rebelettes a six-run defeat.
Marshall went the distance for Franklin County, allowing 10 hits, three walks, and seven total runs—four earned. The loss left the Rebelettes at 4-7.
Late Rally Lifts Bradley Central Over Rebelettes
Franklin County nearly pulled off a win against Bradley Central but suffered a heartbreaking 4-3 loss after a late-game rally by the Bearettes.
The Rebelettes found themselves trailing 1-0 after Bradley Central scored in the second inning. They were hitless through three innings but broke through in the fourth when Partin and Montgomery singled, and Hand drew a walk to load the bases. Nelson followed with an RBI single, Wilhoit walked in a run, and Casey added another RBI single to put Franklin County ahead 3-1.
However, Bradley Central stormed back in the bottom of the inning. After a popout to start, five straight batters reached base, including a two-run single that tied the game. A sacrifice fly pushed across the go-ahead run, and the game ended due to the time limit, handing Franklin County another narrow defeat.
Nelson pitched all 3 2/3 innings, allowing seven hits, four walks, and four runs. With the loss, the Rebelettes slipped to 4-6 on the season.
Farragut Dominates Rebelettes in Opener

Franklin County’s tournament began with a tough 11-2 loss to Farragut. The Lady Admirals wasted no time, posting five runs in the first inning and never looking back.
The Rebelettes managed to get a run in the bottom of the first when an error allowed Kyleigh DeCamp to score. Farragut responded with three more runs in the second, stretching the lead to 8-1.
Franklin County added one more run in the third when Hand delivered an RBI single. But Farragut continued to pile on, scoring twice in the fourth and once in the fifth to put the game out of reach. The Rebelettes were unable to respond before the time limit ended the game.
Morris pitched 3 1/3 innings, allowing six hits, five walks, and 10 total runs—only three of which were earned. Nelson came in for relief, finishing the game with 1 2/3 innings pitched and just one run allowed.
With the loss, Franklin County fell to 4-5 on the season. The game against Lawrence County, scheduled for Monday, has been postponed.
