Kathy Davis Wicks Stewart

Kathy Davis Wicks Stewart, age 74 of Huntland, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Gail and Cyndi Kochan’s home in Decherd. Kathy was born on August 27, 1950, in Fayetteville, Tennessee, the daughter of Sam B. Wicks and Edith Moorehead Wicks. Kathy graduated from Central High School Fayetteville in 1968, then went to college, earning a degree in education from Middle Tennessee State University. Kathy taught fifth grade at Huntland Elementary School for thirty-three years until her retirement in 2006. Kathy took the most pride in being a grandma. She especially loved shopping, pageants, and her family. Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Stewart and parents, Sam B. and Edith Wicks. Kathy is survived by her son, Blake (Cindy) Stewart of Huntland; daughters, Stacy (Jimbob) Thompson, and Amberley (Kevin) Speer, both of Huntland; grandchildren, Will and Makayla Stewart, Hayden and Harley Thompson, and Graynger Speer, all of Huntland. Kathy was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her sixth grandchild in July. In addition to children and grandchildren, remaining to cherish Kathy’s memory are sister, Debby (Jerry) Moorehead, brother, John (Rhonda) Wicks, brother-in-law, Ronnie (Donna) Stewart, sister-in-law, Kathy Stewart (Jerry Beaty) and a great number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 5pm-8pm, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 12:00pm with Bro. John B. Neal officiating at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
