Johnny Wayne Walls

Johnny Wayne Walls, age 73 of Decherd, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025, at St. Thomas Rutherford Medical Center. A native of Franklin County, he was born on October 10, 1951, to the late Grady Leon Walls and Ruby V. Craig. Johnny worked for Henley Supply Millwork for over twenty years before retiring from Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems in Sewanee as a custodian. He enjoyed working in his yard and going fishing, as well as watching NASCAR and football. His favorite past-time was spent at home with his beloved family or watching his granddaughter Amelia play soccer. In his younger years, Johnny attended Oak Grove Church of God and Decherd Methodist Church, and had most recently attended Winchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Walls; brothers, Timmy Walls and Freddy Walls; and step-father, Ovalee Craig. Johnny is survived by his loving children, Amanda (Pete) King and John (Ashley) Walls; granddaughter, Amelia King; siblings, Ricky Walls, Patsy Craig, Danny Ray (Pat) Walls, and Mark (Gail) Walls; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, June 26, 2025, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Michael Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Garner Cemetery.
