James Dennis Burton

May 26, 1947 - April 24, 2025

JAMES DENNIS BURTON, age 72, of Belvidere, Tenn., departed this life on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at his residence following an extended illness.  Mr. Burton was born in Fayetteville, Tenn., to the late Tommy Burton and Florence Kelly Burton on April 1, 1953.  He was a graduate of Huntland High School.  Mr. Burton was in the Plastics Manufacturing Business for approximately 30 years before his retirement.  He was also a full time farmer.  Mr. Burton was a hard worker all of his life. He enjoyed bird hunting, fishing, gardening and was an Avid Alabama football fan.  Mr. Burton will be remembered as a loving husband, father, great-grandfather and a friend to many.  He will be greatly missed by all on "the ridge".   

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, G.W. Burton.

He is survived by his wife of almost 54 years, Brenda Burton of Belvidere, daughters; April Ashley and husband, Peanut of Huntland, Amanda Bradley and husband, Jason of Belvidere, Grandchildren:  Alexandra Bauer and husband, Cole of Huntland, Jedediah Ashley of Huntland, Katie Patterson and husband, Duncan of New Market, Ala., Avery Bradley of Belvidere, Great-grandson, August Bauer of Huntland, siblings: Mary Anna Walker, Don Burton both of Belvidere and Sylvia Weathersby of Tullahoma. Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 27, in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services, with Bro. Joe Plunkett, officiating. 

Visitation is scheduled for 12:00 noon on Sunday prior to the Service at 2:00.

Interment will follow services in the Limbaugh Cemetery in Belvidere. 

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made in his honor to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Shriner's Children's, C/O Office Philanthropy, 2900 N Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL  33607.
