Wrapped in love and surrounded by family, Hula Elene "Nenie" Teal Tucker, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, transcended from this world to her heavenly home on the evening of Saturday, June 28, 2025, after courageously battling Alzheimer’s disease. Born in Gadsden, Alabama to the late James Melvin Teal and Hula Aline (Nelson) Cox, Elene was lovingly raised by her precious mother and stepfather Leon Bozeman Cox. Growing up in Franklin County, Tennessee, her life was rich in love, creativity, faith, and devotion to those she held dear. Elene was a woman of many gifts and an artist in every sense of the word—an avid reader, a gifted writer, a beautiful dancer, a lovely singer, an amazing cook, a plant whisperer, and a lifelong Auburn fan. She cherished quiet sunrises with Jesus, coffee, and her kitty, Minky. Above all, she treasured her family, especially her grandchildren who affectionately called her "Nanny." She is survived by her son, Jack Michael Tucker, Jr. of Shawnee, Oklahoma and his three children, Noah, Dakota, and Makenzie Rose Tucker; her daughter, Jacquelyne Elene and son-in-law, Joel Sutton of Covington, Georgia and their four children, Daniel, Madelyne Elene, Tucker, and Chloe Joyce Sutton. Elene is preceded in death by her parents as well as her brother, Henry Cox, and brothers-in-law, Butch Stiwalt and Edward Knight. Elene is also survived by her siblings: Clayton (Rhonda) Cox, Patricia Teal Cons, Marlene Teal Stiwalt, Becky (David) Sawyer, Susan "Sue" Knight, and Sara Cox. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester, Tennessee, with a funeral service following at 3:00 pm. The service will be officiated by her grandson, Daniel Sutton. Elene will be laid to rest at 4:15 at Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester, Tennessee. Pallbearers will be Jack Michael Tucker, Jr., Daniel Sutton, Tucker Sutton, Edward Knight, Jake Knapp, and Aidan Knapp. Elene was a beautiful light who lived for those she loved. Though she is in heaven, her everlasting love is here with us and will be with us every step of the way. We will always thank God for gifting her to us. “…I have loved you with an everlasting love. I have drawn you with loving kindness.” Jeremiah 31:3 Moore-Cortner Funeral Home 300 1st Ave NW, Winchester, TN 37398, (931)967-2222, www.moorecortner.com
