Franklin County Sweeps Central Magnet


In the first district games of the season, the Rebelettes and Rebels defeated Central Magnet on Tuesday night in Murfreesboro. The games were broadcast on ESPN Winchester WCDT 106.9/AM 1340.

In the girls' game, Franklin County held a slim 29-21 lead at halftime but poured it on in the second half to win 65-46. NaKayjah Holman was named the ESPN Winchester Player of the Game as she scored 22 points.

The Rebels led by 5 at halftime and only 3 points after the 3rd quarter but were able to pull away somewhat in the fourth to get the important district win, 65-57. Big nights by Brayden Arnold, who scored 22 points, and Bradon Walker, with 21, helped Franklin County to the victory. Arnold was named the player of the game.

The next high school sports broadcast will be Friday night when Eagleville visits Huntland. Our next Franklin County game will be on Jan. 24, when Tullahoma comes to Winchester.
