Franklin County Rebelette Softball Compete in Brentwood Invitational

The Franklin County Rebelettes participated in the Brentwood Invitational over the weekend, facing a competitive lineup of opponents in a five-game stretch at Crockett Park. The Rebelettes finished the tournament with one win and four losses, showcasing resilience and flashes of strong play throughout the event.


Tournament Opener: Grace Christian Pulls Away in the Third


Franklin County opened tournament play on Friday with a 9-3 loss to Grace Christian Academy. The Rebelettes jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning, sparked by a wild pitch that brought in two runs and an RBI double by Victoria Nelson.


Grace Christian responded in the bottom half of the first to tie the game, then took the lead in the second. A five-run third inning, featuring seven hits, sealed the outcome. Dalayna Marshall started in the circle for Franklin County, allowing five runs (three earned) on seven hits in two and one-third innings. Nelson and Alex Hand each drove in a run, while Kaitlyn Montgomery and Nelson recorded one hit apiece.


Rebelettes Fall to Lipscomb Academy

In their second game Friday, Franklin County fell to Lipscomb Academy 6-0. Lipscomb struck early with a three-run second inning, followed by a two-run third that capitalized on a double by Vivian Candella, a walk, and a Franklin County error.

Kaylee Morris started in the circle, surrendering six runs (five earned) on five hits in two and one-third innings. She also collected one of the Rebelettes' two hits in the game, along with Addison Partin. Lipscomb played clean defense, committing no errors.










Dominant Win Over Fairview


The Rebelettes bounced back with a 6-0 win over Fairview on Saturday, fueled by a four-run fourth inning. Addison Partin and Victoria Nelson each delivered RBI singles, and Kaitlyn Montgomery knocked a two-run double to widen the lead.


Franklin County racked up nine hits, led by Morris, Partin, and Nelson with two each. Nelson also pitched four shutout innings, giving up only one hit and striking out three.


Redemption Victory Over Lipscomb


Franklin County earned redemption later Saturday with a 4-1 win over Lipscomb Academy. Courtney Wilhoit put the Rebelettes on the board in the first with an RBI single. Additional runs came in the third inning, with contributions from Alex Hand and a Lipscomb fielding error.


Dalayna Marshall delivered a strong performance in the circle, holding Lipscomb to one run on three hits over five innings. Wilhoit led the team with two RBIs, and Nelson went 2-for-3 at the plate.


Tournament Finale Ends in Loss to Tipton-Rosemark


In their final game of the tournament, the Rebelettes were shut out 7-0 by Tipton-Rosemark Academy. The Lady Rebels plated four runs in the second inning, aided by a double from Addie Thorpe and a groundout from Zadie Reburn.


Marshall got the start, giving up six runs (five earned) on five hits in just over an inning. Morris and Montgomery recorded the only hits for Franklin County in the loss.


Looking Ahead


The Rebelettes return to action Monday with a road game against Marion County.
