Franklin County Launches DUI Crackdown Friday Night

Winchester, Tennessee - Franklin County law enforcement will conduct sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM on June 20 in a coordinated crackdown on impaired driving.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office, working with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office and local agencies, will monitor three key locations:

- US Highway 41A between Stewart Lane and Cook Road

- Highway 127 (AEDC Road) at AEDC Lakeview Road

- Highway 130 (Old Tullahoma Road) near Northlake Elementary School

Officers will focus on identifying impaired drivers, conducting field sobriety tests, and enforcing DUI laws to reduce alcohol-related crashes and prevent fatalities on Tennessee roads.

The Tennessee Highway Safety Office is funding the operation through grants covering overtime pay for deputies and officers working the late shift.

Officials encourage drivers to use designated drivers, rideshare services, or avoid driving when alcohol is involved as Franklin County takes a zero-tolerance stance against impaired driving.
