Franklin Child Morris

December 19, 1925 - April 25, 2025

Franklin Child Morris, age 99 of Huntland, passed away on April 25, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on December 19, 1925, to the late Franklin Elijah Morris and Ethelyn Child. Franklin was a World War II Veteran and worked as an artist, creating portraits, teaching classes, and was part of the team who worked for NASA and Boeing on the Apollo Lunar Rover. He enjoyed boats, raced sports cars, scuba diving, built small engine submarines and radio controls for aircrafts, and was an unofficial engineer. Franklin was creative, intelligent, polite, and loving. He loved his many visits to the cottage at Hope Bay, Canada. Franklin was a member of the Lions Club and attendee the Huntland Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Frankin is preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Waterworth; and daughter, Leslie Morris Gurley. He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Nancy Bishop Morris; daughter, Lynn (Bill) Mayrand; son, Franklin (Kathryn) Morris; grandchildren, Rachel Morris, Nicole Morris, Connor Morris, Matthew (Sarah) Gurley, Sahna (Ben) Ramin; great-grandchildren, Matthew Gurley Jr., Eli Gurley, Lucas Ramin, Miles Ramin; nieces, LeAnn, Kim, and Melanie; and many cousins. Visitation will be held from 1pm-3pm on May 10 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. A Celebration will follow at 3pm on May 10 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Dr. Allison Gilliam and Rev.
