Douglas "Doug" McArthur Partin

Douglas “Doug” McArthur Partin, age 83 of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Highpoint Health-Winchester. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Decherd on December 12, 1941, to the late Walter and Nellie Norma (Gillespie) Partin. Doug was a proud veteran of the United States Army. From 1969-1974 he was the owner and operator of John’s Shell Station. He was then called into community service, working as a fireman for Winchester Fire Department (1974-1980) and AEDC Fire Department (1980-2008) until his retirement. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed spending time on the lake fishing, camping, and boating with his family. His most cherished times were the ones he was surrounded by his beloved family. He was a charter member of Riva Lake Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and song leader. Doug loved sharing his love of the Lord and would discuss the Bible with anyone that was willing to listen. Loving, compassionate, and selfless, he was always there to give a helping hand or hug to his friends, family, and community. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William Buddy Partin, Alfred Partin, Robert Sonny Partin, Jackie Partin, and Joe Ray Partin; and sister, Dorothy “Sissy” Partin Sweeton. Doug is survived by his loving and devoted wife of sixty-four years, Annie Whaley Partin; daughters, Kimberly (Mitch) Crabtree and Karen (Clint) Pittman; grandchildren, Dustin (Heather) Crabtree, Ashley (Brad) Repass, Colt Pittman, Cade Pittman, and Kassi Pittman; great-granddaughters, Abbey Repass and Annie Crabtree; sisters, Bobbie Barnes, Martha Davis, and Bonnie (Calvin) Havner; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Wade Campbell officiating.
