With the heaviest of hearts, I share the news that my beloved wife of 45 years has passed away from pancreatic cancer. She was my light, my love, my inspiration, my partner in life and my sidekick for more than 47 years. I will miss her every day, but her spirit and love will continue to guide and inspire me.

Dorothy Houston Pope was born on January 6th, 1959, to George and Virginia Houston. She was the 8th child out of 12. She was raised on a cattle ranch near Roosevelt, Utah.

August 24th, 1977, she met the love of her life, Dean Alan Pope. They had two kids. Jackson Dean Pope and AmyLynn Pope Rule.

Being a wife, mother, and grandmother were the most important roles in her life. While she technically only had two kids, she helped raise many more.

While she lived in Utah most of her life, she spent most of her final year in the beautiful small town of Flintville, Tennessee. Where every day felt like camping.

She passed away quietly in the night on May 13th, 2025, in her home overflowing with family.

We know many warm welcoming arms await her in heaven.
