ree

March 2, 1965  -  June 18, 2025

Carr Steven “Steve” Jackson, age 60, of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga passed from this life on June 18, 2025 while surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born in Harvey, Illinois but his family relocated to Tennessee where he attended and graduated from Franklin County High School in 1983.

Steve was employed at Red Food at the age of 16. He continued his employment with Red Food, Bi-Lo and Food City for over 35 years. He held many positions with the company including Stocker, Management and IT Support. In his later years he worked for Corporate, serving as a manager until he took an early retirement due to health reasons.

He was a devout Christian and was a member of the East Ridge United Pentecostal Church for over 24 years. Steve enjoyed Southern Gospel music and would wrestle you down for his Diet Sun-Drops and Alabama football. You didn’t want to be within a city block when Tennessee and Alabama played. Although his house was divided with his “Georgia Dogs” loving wife, Steve never waivered when it came to the support for his “Tide”!

His world revolved around his children and grandchildren and the hardest part of his “address change” was saying good-bye to his babies.

Steve is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 17 years, Tonia Campbell Jackson; children, Josiah (Rebekah) Jackson, Joshua (Heather) Jackson, all of Estill Springs, TN, Ashley (Branden) Wright of Rossville, Ga and Austin (Scheyenne) Cothran of Ringgold, Ga; grandchildren, McKenzie, Lucas, Landon, Hadley, Elijah, Kennedy, Layla, Avery, Emma and Oaklynn.

He leaves behind to mourn his passing his loving sisters, Sandra (Mark) Lyle of Birmingham, Ala. and Rhonda Kaplan of LaGrange, Ga; brothers, Billy Jackson of Fairfax, Va. and Phil Jackson of Paduca, Ky; bonus mom, Fay Jackson of Ider, Ala, a host of relatives, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Joyce Fay Scott Hulvey and Berlin “Bill” Jackson; brother, BJ Jackson; maternal grandparents, Carr Cleveland Scott and Clara Rezina Johnson Scott; paternal grandparents, Chattie “Shot” and Cindy I’della Jackson.

Visitation for Steve will be held at The East Ridge United Pentecostal Church located at 254 Bishkoko Rd. Rossville, Ga on Friday June 20, 2025 from 5-8 EST.

Visitation will also be held at Watson Funeral Home 405 Sharp Springs Road Winchester, TN on Saturday June 21, 2025 from 11:00-1:00 p.m. CST with the funeral service starting at 1:00. Interment will follow in the Watson Memorial Park with Todd Campbell, Kevin Sims, Branden Wright, Seth Huskins, Bradley Sims, Jonathan Riddle and Terry Freeze serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be served by Luca, Landon and Elijah.

Watson Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
