Carl Eugene Willoughby, age 72 of Hillsboro, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. A native of Coffee County, he was born on October 9, 1952, to the late Clifford and Sally Roberta (Hawes) Willoughby.  Before his retirement, Carl worked for Sain Construction Company, retiring with forty-two years of service, a job he truly loved.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as working in his garden.  A dedicated family man, he cherished his beloved family, whether it was the Sunday Morning (and most days) phone calls, or cheering for his kids playing football.  He never let his loved ones down and supported his kids through all of life’s ups and downs.  His kind heart and loving nature, along with his wittiness and wonderful sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dale Glyn Willoughby, Jerry C. Willoughby, and James Ewing Willoughby; and sisters, Ann Roberta Sisk, Mary Sue Willoughby, and Julia Walden.  Carl is survived by his loving wife whom he shared a love story of fifty years, Carolyn Willoughby; children, Johnny Willoughby, Travis Willoughby, Dusty (Courtney) Rollins, and Kevin Rollins; grandchildren, Johnny Eugene Willoughby Jr, Jacien Isaiah Willoughby, Chavela Brooke Willoughby, Ian Zane Willoughby, Faith Willoughby, Holland Willoughby, Nicholas Gage Rollins, Hunter Ray Rollins, Forrest Nathaniel Rollins, and Dixie Rae Rollins; and several nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, May 5, 2025, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Mt.
