Betty J. Williams

Betty J. Williams, age 76 of Lynchburg, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. She was born in Sherwood on January 11, 1949, to the late Chester E. and Viola Mae (Stubblefield) Keith. Betty spent her working career as a waitress. She enjoyed gardening, was a wonderful cook, and a talented artist. But her true joy was spending time with her beloved family, especially enjoying camping trips with her family. Her kind nature, outgoing personality, and sense of humor combined with an ability to make others laugh will be missed by all her friends and family. Betty was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Humes Williams; grandson, Damien Hodges; and siblings, Katherine Smith, Mae Whitsett, Shirley Brewer, Star Arrick, Linda Wilson, Bobby Keith, Eugene Keith, and Doug Keith. Betty is survived by her loving children, Rhonda Deaton, Tracy (Scottie) Owens, Jennifer Adams, and Jeremy “Baby Boy” Adams; siblings, Deloris Wilson, Leslie Keith, and Melinda (Doug) Swann; brother-in-law, Ricky Wilson; grandchildren, Brittany, Lindsay, Alicia, Dylan, Sam, Sara, Jessica, Raven, and John; great-grandchildren, Jadon, Brooklyn, Seth, Zoey, Kylie, Kaleigh, Kaizley, Waylon Humes, J.D., Sephira, Shaleigh, Pearl, and London; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Sunday, May 25, 2025, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
