Annie Ola Woods, age 82, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Tristar Centennial Hospital in Nashville. She was born in Franklin County on February 17, 1943, to the late Fremon Hayworth, Jr., and Etta Mae (Taylor) Massengill. Ann had a vibrant spirit that was displayed throughout every aspect of her life. She was a graduate of Townsend High School, and she was a Townsend Tiger Majorette, marching with grace and enthusiasm, inspiring those around her with her talent and spirited dance. Her youthful energy and leadership on the field were just the beginning of a life filled with passion and dedication. Ann dedicated many years of her life to caring for others as a nurse at General Hospital. Her compassionate nature and unwavering commitment made her a beloved caregiver, touching the lives of countless patients. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional duties. She loved to spoil her children, filling their lives with warmth, laughter, and love. A talented cook, Ann found joy in creating delicious meals that brought family and friends together. Her kitchen was a place of love, where she poured her heart into every dish, making everyone feel special and cherished. Her culinary creations, especially her chicken and dressing, will forever be a testament to her generous spirit and her desire to nurture those she loved. She is preceded in death by her father, Fremon W. Hayworth, Jr.; Stepfather, Carter L. Massengill; sister, Martha Massengill. She is survived by her husband, Augustus Woods; mother, Etta Mae Massengill; children, Steven Anthony and Michael (Kim) Anthony; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and another one on the way; siblings, James (Angela) Massengill, Threasa L. Dunson, Freda L. Davis, Sheila K. Harris, Fremon W. Hayworth III, Aretha Jones, and Frances Bass. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Watson Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM at Winchester City Cemetery.
