Wilma Jean Dodson

Wilma “JEAN” Dodson, age 89 died peacefully at home on November 13, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on June 14, 1936, in Tullahoma, Tennessee to Clyde and Margie Fariss.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

Jean graduated from Tullahoma High School in Tullahoma, Tennessee. After that, she met the love of her life, Henry Dodson Sr., at Duckworth Skating Rink, and they were happily married for over 50 years.

Jean Dodson served the Lord as a minister’s wife for over 25 years. She loved helping people, playing the piano, and praising the Lord in song. This ministry led them across the United States.

After retiring from the ministry, she became a seamstress at Tennessee Apparel. Jean also loved working in her yard. She always had the most beautiful flowers. She loved visiting her neighbors and friends. She also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Margie Fariss, her husband, Henry H. Dodson Sr., her daughter, Cynthia Jean Swann, her son, Henry H. Dodson Jr., her son-in-law, Michael C. Swann, sisters, Charlet Nichols and Violet Reynolds.

She is survived by her son, Mark Dodson (Elida), her daughter, Dianna Brewer (Benny), 2 sisters, Wanda Hodge and Joyce Stevenson. 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren with one more on the way, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
