Michael Gene Steele

Michael Gene “Pud” Steele, age 52 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Florida on January 30, 1973, to the late Delmar “Shorty” Gene and Virginia Lynn (Cantrell) Steele. He had most recently been employed as a roofer in the construction industry. An avid outdoorsman, Michael enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, and biking. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Campbell. Michael is survived by his daughter, Courtney Steele (Lyric Preston); grandchild, Raegan Grace; siblings, Adam Steele, and Hoppy (Tina) Steele; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Green Cemetery with Rev. Lucas Baker officiating.
