The City of Decherd invites residents and visitors to come together for an evening of food, music, family fun, and fireworks during its annual 4th of July Celebration on Friday, July 3, 2026.The event will take place at Babe Ruth Park, located at 107 College Street in Decherd, with festivities beginning at 6:00 PM. The celebration will conclude with a fireworks display at dark. The community is invited to celebrate freedom, family, and community while enjoying an evening of entertainment and patriotic festivities.

VFW Post 1893 is inviting the community to celebrate Independence Day with an evening of food, fun, freedom, and live music on Friday, July 4 in Estill Springs. The family-friendly celebration will be held at VFW Post 1893, located at 6200 AEDC Road, and will feature a variety of food options, live entertainment, and patriotic festivities. Guests are encouraged to bring their families, lawn chairs, and patriotic spirit for an evening of community celebration.

Food offerings will include favorites such as barbecue, hot dogs, burgers, ice cream, and more, while live music will provide entertainment throughout the event. Residents are invited to attend the next Partnering with Government Workshop on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 6:00 PM in the Franklin County Annex Community Room. This workshop will focus on two important topics impacting the future of Franklin County:

Winchester Parks and Recreation will host a Summer Sports Camp July 13th through 17th from 9 AM to 4 PM at Winchester City Park for ages 5 to 12. Kids will participate in soccer, softball, basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and disc golf while building skills, teamwork, and confidence.

The United Way of Franklin County is collecting new school supplies during its annual Stuff the Bus Day of Action to help local students prepare for the upcoming school year. Community members are encouraged to donate backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons, and other essential classroom supplies to support children and families throughout Franklin County. Every donation helps ensure students have the tools they need for a successful start to the school year!

The Franklin County Health Department will host its annual Back to School Bash on Thursday, July 23, 2026, beginning at 8:00 AM CST.

This year's event will be held as a drive-thru giveaway at the Franklin County Health Department, located at 266 Joyce Lane in Winchester.

Families will have the opportunity to receive free backpacks and school supplies while supplies last! Organizers encourage families to arrive early, as supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Join local experts for a Fraud Awareness Forum focused on helping community members recognize and prevent common scams. The program will cover online scams and phishing, identity theft, financial fraud, phone and text scams, and ways to protect personal information. Representatives from local law enforcement, government agencies, financial institutions, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation will share practical tips, answer questions, and provide resources to help individuals and families stay informed, stay alert, and stay protected.
